Teaching
My goal is to enhance the student’s freedom of artistic expression on the instrument, as well as foster motivation and desire for growth in oneself, whether that be in music or in other aspects in life. My desire is to help inspire the commitment to and love for the craft and art of music making.
I see my students as unique individuals and tailor the instruction to best suit their learning styles and individual needs. I believe every person has a unique and special voice, and music is a wonderful outlet to bring that out. My teaching is highly inspired by pedagogues such as Karen Tuttle, Dorothy Delay, and Shinichi Suzuki.
I’ve had the pleasure of working with violin and viola students from a wide range of backgrounds — from elementary school students to college-level musicians. My students have gone on to perform concertos with orchestra, and have been accepted into competitive youth programs such as the Maryland Classic Youth Orchestras (MCYO) and the Baltimore Symphony Youth Orchestras (BSYO). I'm incredibly proud of all my students’ accomplishments.
I currently offer online and in-person violin and viola lessons to students in Montgomery and Howard Counties in Maryland.
